The Final Twist - And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After
After the second last episode ended, we were expecting a happy ending with Aslam marrying Rakhshi in the finale. However, what happened was an unbelievable twist that we did not see coming! Aslam reached out to his ‘first love’, Rakhshi and asked her to meet him as his ex-lover, and not as Sadaf's step-mother. The two met and had gala time together, reminiscing their past. As a viewer it was bitter-sweet watching the once- cupid- struck- duo reunite after what seemed like eons only to disappear from each other’s lives, forever this time. Rakhshi mentioned, she did not wish to become the second woman in Aslam’s life, neither did she want to hurt the sweet ‘Bushra’ who truly loved Aslam with all her heart. Aslam and Rakhshi decided to spend one last evening together – the memories of which would last them a lifetime. The duo became what they once were, full of life just like teenagers who were madly in love....
The finale gave us the shock we did not expect, after the amazing evening spent together, teasing and pulling each other’s leg and watching the sunset together, Rakhshi returned home and Aslam made his way back to his wife Bushra. What viewers believed were Aslam and Rakhshi rejoicing to have found each other again, was actually the couple finding closure and promising to move on in life. Rakhshi decided to get married after being widowed while Aslam chose to spend his life happily with his wife Bushra and daughter Darakhsha. This ending was not what we expected for the two star-crossed lovers but we are definitely glad that the two were able to achieve the closure they needed and continue on the journey of life individually.
We Missed Rabia Butt’s Fiery Avatar Towards the Climax
‘Nargis’ played by the dusky beauty Rabia Butt was the highlight of Pehli Si Muhabbat, we missed her as the episodes reached their climax. Playing the ferocious Nargis, who was not afraid to speak her mind won our hearts. Rabia Butt’s performance excelled with every scene she was featured in, her witty comebacks and thought-provoking dialogues were applaud-worthy. Butt proved her mettle once again with her exemplary act as the step-mother who turned out to be the fairy god-mother Rakhshi badly needed instead of the stereotype evil step-mother we are used to watching on our TV screens.
Kudos to the team behind Pehli Si Muhabbat
While the drama may have become quite lengthy towards the end, the story came to a full circle in the end. Kudos to iDream entertainment for another blockbuster starring the popular ‘jori’ Sheheryar Munavar and Maya Ali who were seen together after a hiatus of 6 years. Pehli Si Muhabbat was penned down by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Anjum Shehzad. The melodious OST was sung by none other than the maestro, Ali Zafar.
