Yasir Hussain has once again made his stance clear on where he stands about Pakistan's fondness of Turkish actors.
Protesting PTV's airing of the Islamic History saga, Diriliş Ertuğrul, and the country's love for its characters, Yasir did not hold back when expressing his disdain in March. He went on a rant via his Instagram story, going on about how Turkish Shows could damage the industry.
"PTV ko chaye hai kay woh eik tareekhi drama banaye aur apnay artists aur technicians ko use karey. Woh artist jo tax detey hein aur qabliat rakhtey hein. ( PTV should develop a historic TV show and use local artists and technicians. Those artists that give tax and have talent),"
The actor then went on to continue his tirade by approaching it from a different angle, "Jab aap kay bhai ko bank se, bhen ko school se, aur Abu ko unki job sey nikaal k Turkish logon ko jobs dee jayeingi tu shahid aapko andaza hoga."
Twitter was not having it, clapping back at the actor's hateful monologue, and deeming him 'insecure' for ranting about such things which the people are enjoying thoroughly especially in gloomy this time of coronavirus. After all, is it so wrong to be fascinated with the cinematographic excellence which is also depicting Islamic History? Nobody else seems to have an issue with it, but of course, Yasir Hussain had to give his input. Objecting Esra Bilgic being the ambassador for Qmobile.
People were even more agitated about his continued agenda to shut out contributions with Turkish actors or any concept of inclusivity. He went on to inquire why Pakistani actors such as Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, Sonya Hussyn, Minal and Aiman Khan, Hania or Zara Noor Abbas are not made the ambassadors rather than the current favourite, Halima Sultan.
Minal and Aiman Khan agreed with Yasir's statement, reposting his story and backing it up, "Yes, because why not Yasir?"
Aagha Ali went on the defend the decision behind collaborating with Turkish celebrities, clarifying his perspective on the matter,
"An actor always wants to get recognized internationally and everyone feels great when they get an offer from another country,"
Ali also went on to discuss "We felt so bad when Fawad and Mahira had to leave all their signed projects/commitments and to return from India,"
Furthermore, host Anoushay Ashraf has called Yasir Hussain to discuss the controversy in detail.
