Drama enthusiasts must remember the success of Sang e Mar Mar aired back in 2016, viewers could not hold their excitement for another instalment of the drama that had been a super-hit back in the day.
Here’s what we think is going to make Sang-E-Mah a super-hit show:
An Ace Director-Producer- Writer team are bringing their magic to screen!
For this blockbuster in the making, ace director Seifee Hassan is wearing the directors cap. He has a number of block-buster dramas including Alif, Ehd-e-Wafa, Bari Aapa amongst others. He has teamed up with producer Momina Duraid’s MD Productions and the show has been written down by the man with the golden pen, Mustafa Afridi. He has super-hit shows to his name including Aseerzaadi, Ehd-e-Wafa and the first part in the trilogy, Sang e Mar Mar was also written by him.
Nauman Ejaz and Zaviyar Ejaz’s Duo for the first time in a drama together
The father-son duo will be seen on screen together for the first time since Zaviyar Ejaz began his acting career. This is his second appearance on a tv show after his ongoing role as Murad in Qissa Meherbano Ka. Although the first episode of Sang e Mah did not show them in a scene together, we can’t wait to see the two share an amazing rapport as Haji Marjan Khan and Hikmatullah Khan. While his father seems to be a strict leader, Hikmat is loving and caring and very much in love with Gulmina. We are yet to see how his father takes the news of him wanting to marry her.
Sang e Mah talks about a much needed topic, ‘Gagh’
Sang e Mah will be shedding light on the societal evil, gagh which is an ancient practice but still continues to take place in many villages in the northern country side. Kubra Khan as Sheherzad, a journalist and researcher has taken it on as an assignment and will soon be heading to the village to research on it. This is probably where she will be meeting the notorious Hilmand and a twist in the tale will be set.
Atif Aslam’s Debut on the small screen
Fans of Atif Aslam are in for a treat as the singer turned actor debuts as Hilmand in the show, he has played the ‘lost soul’, a wanderer and is nailing his performance as a ‘Darvesh’ as he calls himself in his opening scene. After Pakistani movie Bol, this is the first time the singer has been seen on the tv screen. We are anxious to see how Hilmand’s story further unfolds as the drama progresses on, why is he living away from his family and why does he not get along with his father is what we are looking forward to see.
