Sajal Aly Slays in Sustainable Fashion
The Aangan star previously attended the 'Green Carpet Awards' where she and Ahad Raza Mir both encouraged the significance of sustainable fashion in order to practice conservation and environmental consciousness.
Recently, Sajal Aly attended the Distinctive International Arab Festival Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai, and opted to wear a minimalistic styled, velvet pant-suit combo. The Yeh Dil Mera actor was the winner of the 'International Icon' award for her contribution to the world of television and cinema, and was the recipient of prolific praise from members of the media fraternity including husband and fellow actor, Ahad Raza Mir, Mahira Khan and Zara Noor Abbas, to name a few.
Not only did Sajal Aly represent Pakistan on an international level but the artist's environmental consciousness was also highly noted. Alif's Momina Sultan turned heads with her style choices, redefining what it means to be fashionable in the modern age, by choosing to wear relatively simpler, non-designer outfits and still look fantastic. Sajal truly represented the need to preserve and put our climate first.
Previously, the actor repeated outfit during her wedding events to the Ehd-e-Wafa star. She repeated her gorgeous engagement outfit at a post nikkah dinner to the delight of fans who praised her for normalising 'recycling outfits'. Speaking to Dawn Images about her choice, Sajal shared her view concerning the prioritisation of sustainable living over material items, making the star even more of an icon for her admirable perspective.
"It was from my own wardrobe and no, it wasn’t designer wear. I decided to wear something simple, something that I could wear again and again. This year has been strange for all of us and I am increasingly beginning to feel that we need to place less focus on material things like clothes. We need to start thinking about sustainability and prioritise what we consider important in our lives."
Sajal Aly's decision to focus on what really matters instead of who wore what label is inspirational, as it redefines what it means to be fashion conscious whilst also being smart and empathetic to the current situation. It is an embodiment of an educated and enlightened individual who managed to stun at the awards, make her country proud, while subtly making a climate friendly style statement.
Kudos to Sajal Aly, a true sustainable style icon we can vouch for!
