Amir Hatmi, known for his character Saad Salman in the iconic 80’s PTV drama ‘Tanhaiyan’ has passed away. The news of his demise was confirmed by journalist Fifi Haroon when she took to Twitter announcing the death.

She wrote:

With great regret, I’m announcing the sad demise of Amir Hatmi. You may remember him as Saad Salman cast opp Shehnaz Sheikh in Tanhaiyan. Amir, a talented model, had a brief acting career. A lovely guy with more than his fair share of life’s troubles. You will be missed Amir, RIP.

Saad plays Shehnaz Sheikh’s love interest in Tanhaiyan, a drama based on the story of two sisters Sanya & Zahra (played by Marina Khan & Shehnaz Sheikh), who lose their parents in a car accident and live with their aunt.

Amir Hatmi had a brief acting and modeling career. Starring in Hasina Moins’s play Tanhaiyan in 1985 rose him to instant fame. The reason for Amir’s death is still unknown. May his kind soul rest in peace!
