Now that we can no more hate Kubra Khan’s character Mashal in Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, we have started deeply loathing Aswad.
We have already established that this leading male character is very toxic in the story and he is about to get even more villainous than we expected….
Let’s take a quick throwback to what happened in the story this week and what is coming next in Umera Ahmed’s masterpiece.
Aswad is the new villain in town
Yet again, there was not much progress in the plot this week. Saffan (Haroon Shahid) meets with Saleha (Huma Nawab) so that they can discuss his marriage with Mehreen (Mahira Khan).
After much back and forth, Saffan and his family agree to his wedding with Mehreen. They even go shopping for their upcoming occasion until Aswad tries to sabotage the situation.
Apparently, Aswad finally draws a conclusion in his head that Mehreen has surely given sleeping pills to Mashal (Kubra Khan) that led to her death. It all begins with Tahir (Ali Tahir) and Shabbo (Kaif Ghaznavi) narrating to Aswad about what happened the night his daughter died. As per their version of the story, Mehreen and Mashal had an aggressive fight that unfateful day but they quickly patched up. So much so, Mehreen makes tea for Mashal and adds sugar in her cup. Shabbo witnesses the whole scene and is surprised that Mashal never adds sugar to her tea.
Upon hearing the incident, Aswad draws the conclusion, as intended by Tahir, that Mehreen is the culprit. Lost in thought the whole night, our hero-turned-villain hatches a plan to take revenge on his cousin.
Right at the time when Mehreen’s mother and Saffan’s family meet to finalize things; Aswad enters claiming that since he is engaged to Mehreen, she cannot marry someone as long as she is engaged to him.
While everyone is shocked with his unpredictable move; early promos of the drama have made us clear that Aswad is doing it all to torture Mehreen and punish her.
Shabbo is up to nothing good
Hum Kaha Kay Sachay Thay is driving some strong critical conversations on the internet and rightly so! We are also confused that Mehreen, despite knowing how Aswad has treated her, will be eventually choosing him over Saffan. After all, we saw her as a headstrong woman from the beginning and don’t expect her to succumb to her cousin’s toxic nature.
We have pointed out earlier how much Usman Mukhtar’s performance seems stagnant in the story. However, the promo of the next episode unveils him depicting a new side of Aswad- a creepy, lethal aspect to his personality that might even surpass the villainy that Mashal possessed.
How well he will pull this off, only time will tell! We are missing Kubra Khan and are loving Mahira Khan’s performance so far. We have a strong feeling Shabbo essayed by Kaif Ghaznavi is hiding something. She knows Mashal committed suicide and is surely framing Mehreen for sure. Let’s see what’s next to come.
